#WhistleblowerWednesday: Jesus the Whistleblower..?
Wednesday Dec 25, 2019
Wednesday Dec 25, 2019
Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 25, 2019.
It’s Christmas Day today, and to all you who celebrate it, we wish you a Merry Christmas.
It’s also #WhistleblowerWednesday today on your Daily WakeUp Call. And in recognition of Christmas, we’re doing a special Christmas Day edition for #WhistleBlowerWednesday.
Christmas of course is the day when Christians the world over celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. As with any religious figure, there are diverse perspectives on what the life and teachings of Jesus mean to his believers and non-believers. Is Jesus the supernatural Son of God as his followers believe? Or was he an enemy of the state and a heretic as the Romans and Jewish Priests believed? Or could he be none of the above? Or perhaps all three...?
In our podcast today, we’ll explore those questions from various perspectives. Our main exploration will be informed by the biblical narrative of Jesus as recorded in the Christian bible. And where possible and helpful, we’ll cross-reference biblical narrative with the historical record as interpreted by secular and state historians of the day. So with all due respect to true believers- including Jews, Christians and statists– we’ll offer a trigger warning here in hopes that folks won’t be offended by our efforts of inquiry. It’s all meant in the spirit of Truth and love, as we expect you all– and Jesus– would want it.

Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 24th, 2019
So, yesterday on your Daily WakeUp Call, we explored the big lies about Trump and Russia. Did Trump collude with Russia in 2016 to leak Hillary’s emails and expose the corruption of her campaign? Or did the Hillary campaign just make up the Trump-Russia Conspiracy so they could find some dirt on Trump’s people and deflect from their own corruption?
Based on the two official inquiries that we discussed in our podcast yesterday– the Mueller/FBI investigation of the Trump Campaign, and the Horowitz investigation into the FBI’s surveillance of the Trump Campaign– neither inquiry was conclusive either way. And both sides have used the results to bolster their support. But there are a few indisputable certainties that were revealed:
First- any independent observer who has reviewed the reports can agree that the evidence provided by the DNC to justify surveillance of Trump’s campaign was fabricated– “a complete fiction” as indie journos, Aaron Maté (@aaronjmate) and Matt Taibbi (@mtaibbi) have explained.
Second– early on, even after the FBI figured out the DNC evidence was faked, the FBI still continued to wiretap the Trump campaign...
Third– both lead investigators– Mueller and Horowitz– have acknowledged these facts but neither encouraged further criminal investigation (why is that?).
And fourth– those inquiries created two years of perpetual distraction, with obsessive coverage by corporate news outlets; and exactly no progress by Congress or the Senate on behalf of us working class Americans.
Now– one could say that because of the divisive nature of those inquiries, it stands to reason that the democrats and republicans would have struggled to find agreement to pass any new legislation. But in fact they did... As indie outlet Common Dreams (@CommonDreams) reported, just last week, “More than 180 House Democrats joined a nearly united Republican caucus last Wednesday to pass a sweeping $738 billion military spending bill that gives President Trump his long-sought ‘Space Force,’ and free rein to wage endless wars, and a green light to continue fueling the humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen.”
And back in 2017, Trump’s tax bill passed both houses to become what experts are calling 'the Biggest Transfer of Wealth from the Working Class to the Richest 1% in US History'. Over time, Trump’s Tax bill eliminates the estate tax and drops corporate tax rates to 20%, “the overwhelming benefit of which goes to the very wealthy.” And Trump’s tax cuts for the wealthy were paid for by “the largest cuts to programs for low- and moderate-income people by any President in the modern era,” including $2.5 trillion in cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, education, and other public services over the next 10 years.
Even Fortune Magazine admits that “Trump’s Tax Cuts Are the Biggest Wealth Grab in Modern History”. And by the way, do you know who held that record before Donald Trump? It was Barack Obama, who gave $4.5 trillion to Wall Street bankers through his bank bailout scheme. Experts say Obama’s scheme was designed to enrich the wealthiest Americans and -quote- “pretty much only the 1%”. And us taxpayers, our children and grandchildren will be paying off Obama’s gift to the 1% while the Obama’s live out their golden years in their new $12 million, 30 acre waterfront estate in Martha’s Vineyard. #ThanksObama. You’re welcome.
But you probably remember learning about all this on CNN, FoxNews and MSNBC, right..? Yeah..? Neither did we... And that’s pretty much the theme of our podcast today: the democrats and republicans are really just the right and left wings of this corporate plutocracy that has hijacked our democracy. They’re like the Sales Department for the “Corporatocracy”: each party with its designated sales markets and target demographics; perpetually competing with each other for top market share...
And the Corporate News outlets are it’s Marketing Department, selling us the Brand Delusion that the US is still a functioning democracy; that “We’re Making the World ‘Safe’ for Democracy”; and that Freedom, Equality and Justice are American values that we all share.
But it’s just a grand self delusion, y’all. And it’s us who perpetuate it by continuing to participate in it, as if our votes, critiques, and protests will change things. The great indie intellectuals of our day, including Noam Chomsky and Chris Hedges agree…
We’ve got to elevate our activism with an evolutionary leap in our understanding that in a corporate plutocracy the only real political power that the working class has is mass organized boycott. Indeed, mass organized boycott is the only political will that ever effectively challenged such entrenched and monied power.
It was the Salt and Textile boycotts that Gandhi organized to help win India’s independence from Britain in the 1900s. It was the mass strikes and picket lines that helped US workers in the 1930s win a 40-hour work week, overtime pay and collective bargaining for labor unions. It was the bus boycotts and restaurant sit-ins in the 1960s that helped Black Americans win Civil Rights reforms. It was the Salad Boycotts and Grape Boycotts in the 60s and 70s that helped win Economic Justice for Migrant workers. And it was the divestment boycotts in the 1980s that finally forced an end to Apartheid in South Africa.

#MondayRoundup! Big Lies by the Corporatocracy last week...

Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 23rd, 2019
This is our “#MondayRoundup” edition in case you missed any news last week. You can visit our website at WakingJustice.org for more details. Here are the headlines…
So, what’s the most important work that we could do every day in the fight for Global Justice? Well at the very least– it seems– we should all be doing our part to wake up folks to the lies of the Corporatocracy. Right? So what does that activism look like?
Well we think the best place to start is by sharing the work of independent journalists in your social networks each day. Indie journos are the activist journalists who commit their entire careers speaking Truth to Power. These are the folks who understand that the US is no longer a representative democracy, but a corporate plutocracy.
And as you’ll see in the podcast today, indie journos remind us how this “Corporatocracy” is run by a pack of lying sociopaths- who fear no depth of deceit– so long as it keeps us distracted and divided against each other- while they continue their endless plunder for power and profit. Here’s a perfect example of just what we mean–
So everyone knows by now - that the democratic congress - voted to impeach President Trump last week. As indie journo Krystal Ball (@KrystalBall) said last Friday, “the Democrats seize[d] on the weakest and dumbest argument they could possibly make against [Trump]”. Krystal knows that the democrats and republicans are just the right and left wings of the US Corporatocracy. She gets it– that Trump’s impeachment is just the latest political theater by this two-party duopoly. It’s how they keep us divided and distracted from the fact that they’re intentionally doing nothing to address the issues “that people actually care about…”
This Campaign of Distraction actually started Day One after #HillaryClinton lost to Trump in 2016. It all started with #RussiaGate, remember? Hillary and the corporate democrats said they had evidence that Trump had colluded with the Russians to sway the election[?]. Hillary claimed that it was the Russians who released all her emails that proved how Hillary, the DNC and the corporate media conspired to cheat Bernie Sanders in the 2016 demcoratic primary.
So after the election, seemingly to distract from their own corruption, the Democrats appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate Trump and Russia. Mueller then appointed the FBI to research the evidence. The director of the FBI, James Comey, led the research. And for the next two years- pretty much all we heard about from corporate news outlets like MSNBC and CNN was their ongoing speculation about the ongoing investigation.
It seemed endless, until finally in March of 2019, Robert Mueller presented his final report on the #RussiaGate conspiracy. And as we all learned, Mueller’s report revealed that there was no real evidence of any collusion between Trump and the Russians. Of course, Mueller and Comey didn’t rule out the possibility of collusion either– they know how to play the game. And so both sides of the duopoly- the #Democrats and #Republicans- could claim that their side had won. And so everyone would remain divided and distracted. And all completely evading the fact that another two years had gone by with nothing being done to tackle the urgent problems we now face...
But this Campaign of Distraction didn’t end there. Because one thing that what was revealed during the Mueller investigation was that back during the 2016 election, President Obama had approved wiretapping the Trump campaign- during the actual campaign. You can’t make this shit up y’all...
And it’s worth mentioning here some key events during that election timeframe… Remember it was in March of 2016 when wikileaks (@wikileaks) released over 50,000 emails from Hillary’s private email server. That was the set of emails that – among other things – confirmed Hillary’s “Arms Deals for Donors” scheme. It was a covert fundraising scheme that was exposed the year before by indie journo David Sirota (@DavidSirota)– where Hillary, as Secretary of State under Obama, approved $Billions in weapons sales to other countries in exchange for $Millions in private donations to her foundation.
Then in July of 2016, wikileaks released another set of emails that exposed two more stunning revelations about Hillary: first, that the Hillary campaign had worked in collusion with the DNC and the Corporate media to rig the democratic primary against Bernie Sanders.
PLUS, all along the way, the Hillary campaign was working in collusion with the corporate news media to promote Donald Trump over all the other Republican candidates, to help Trump win his primary. The leaks revealed that the Hillary campaign believed Trump would be the easiest Republican to beat in the general election.
So when this second set of emails were released by Wikileaks in July, Hillary Clinton’s corrupt campaign tanked... Many Democrats, especially Bernie Sanders supporters vowed never to vote for Hillary. And of course, Republicans were equally infuriated. It was at that point, in July 2016, that President Obama directed the FBI to wiretap the Trump campaign...
So, when all this came out during the Mueller investigation, a new investigation was launched by the Department of Justice to look into how and why the FBI was approved to wiretap the Trump campaign. Inspector General Michael Horowitz of the DOJ led the investigation, and just last week Horowitz presented his final report to Congress. Of course, the corporate news outlets all downplayed the report. For example, the New York Times, which was implicated in the original leaks to be in collusion with the Hillary campaign, in its coverage of the Horowitz report last week, the Times repeatedly stated– exactly eight times in a single article– that the Horowitz investigation did not find any evidence that the FBI’s wiretapping of the Trump campaign was part of -quote- “a political conspiracy” against Donald Trump.
But as indie journos Aaron Mate (@aaronjmate) and Matt Taibbi (@mtaibbi) have explained, the corporate new outlets have carefully avoided a key revelation in the Horowitz report. That, in fact, the Horowitz report confirms that the FBI knew the DNC’s evidence on Trump and Russia had been fabricated by the DNC, but the FBI used it anyway to continue wiretapping the Trump Campaign.
So what does all this mean..?
We’re actually gonna leave that question with you today. And ask you to please tune in again tomorrow, when we’ll look into two other huge lies by the Corporatocracy that indie journos exposed last week. They all seem completely unrelated. But as you’ll see tomorrow, when you put all three big lies together, it reveals some urgent hard truths about this Corporatocracy– and what those truths mean for all of us in the fight for global justice.
Alright y’all, thanks for tuning in- we hope you enjoyed the podcast today.

#FreakoutFriday: indie journo Krystal Ball
Friday Dec 20, 2019
Friday Dec 20, 2019
Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 20th, 2019
It’s “Freakout-Friday” on your Daily Wakeup Call where every Friday we spotlight indie journos who are pushing the leading-edge of independent journalism. These are the folks who expose the hard truths that make us ask, “Why aren’t we all freaking out about this?!”
Today we profile the work of indie journo Krystal Ball (@KrystalBall). Krystal is the co-host of the morning news show called the “Rising” on Hill TV. We’ll get into more about her current work in a moment. But first we want to give you some background on Krystal. As you’ll see, her evolution as a True-Left Progressive has been a remarkable journey…
Krystal was born and raised in rural Virginia. Her mother is a former Catholic Nun- turned-feminist and educator, running a Montessori school. And her father is a physicist who did his PhD on crystals, thus the name Krystal Ball... In Virginia, Krystal “grew up around farms and guns”. She attended public schools and was an undefeated state champion swimmer. She’s also a third generation lifetime member of the NRA...
Krystal got a degree in economics from the University of Virginia, and worked as a CPA for the US Federal Courts to redesign their civil and criminal accounting systems.
In 2010, at the young age of 28, Krystal decided to run for the US Congress as a Democrat against an incumbent Republican. And that’s when things went global for Krystal. During the campaign, her opponent released some racy pictures of Krystal from a halloween party back in her college days. She was dressed in a black bustier and Santa hat. She had a dog leash tethered to her date who was dressed as Rudolf the reindeer, and whose red nose was a strap-on red-colored dildo.
The leaked pictures did their damage, and Krystal eventually lost the election, but her immediate and forceful response to what she called the “sexist double-standard” in America won her international respect. “You have to be totally, uncomfortably honest,” Krystal says. [They] intended to shame me.. to make me want to give up…[But] instead, they gave me..a platform [to expose their sexist double standard]. It became “a stepping stone for me to go on and have even a larger voice..something that I actually feel really proud of.”
Over the next two years, she wrote progressively left-leaning political commentary for various corporate outlets including the Atlantic– and was a guest commentator on various political new shows.
In 2012, she landed her own show on MSNBC called The Cycle– it was a roundtable political talk show with three other co-hosts. Over the next few years, The Cycle developed a solid audience and Krystal became one of the most recognized faces on MSNBC. The experience helped her develop an inside perspective on politics and corporate media...
In a 2014 segment of The Cycle, Krystal delivered a tactful but devastating indictment of then-presidential-wannabe, Hillary Clinton. She said,
“It’s clear now that we have two economies. One for [the] elites. And one for everyone else…[And] in a time when corporations have hijacked our politics..Is someone who sat on the rabidly anti-union board of Walmart..the right person to restore workers’ rights? …[W]e are still reeling from a global financial disaster [due to] fool-hearted bank deregulation; Is someone who took $400,000 to give two speeches at Goldman Sachs the person we need to wrest control back from [BigBanks]? And by the way, someone whose husband..did much of the deregulating that got us into trouble in the first place?...“Back in 2008, when all my peers were jumping on the Obama bandwagon, I backed Hillary.” [But now]..I must say: Don’t run Hillary. Don’t run.”
Within a year, MSNBC fired Krystal and cancelled her show. And we all know how the 2016 election turned out...Over the next few years, Krystal went on to do other political commentary and writings, including authoring a book in 2017 titled “Reversing the Apocalypse: Hijacking the Democratic Party to Save the World.” In her book, Krystal talks about how the Democratic Party has gone from being the party of workers and New Deal Progressives to the party that sold out to the Corporatocracy and inevitably gave us Trump. She argues that the only litmus tests for Democratic candidates today should be about economic issues– and inclusion of all working class Americans, including those who voted for Trump. And that cultural issues like gun control and abortion need to take a back seat to issues of economic justice…
In 2018, Krystal began co-hosting her current project, Rising on Hill TV. It’s a daily morning news show that she co-hosts with Saagar Enjeti (@esaagar). Krystal has gained a huge online following and has continued to evolve her critique of the political establishment.
Just to remind you how far she’s come: In 2009, Krystal backed Hillary Clinton over Barack Obama. By Obama’s second term, she realized that both Obama and Hillary were sellouts to the corporate establishment. So early on in the 2016 election, she then endorsed Elizabeth Warren over Hillary. Now in 2019, she regularly calls out Elizabeth Warren for being -quote- “just a player in the game” as Warren herself has put it. And now Krystal pretty consistently supports the three most anti-establishment candidates in the democratic primary: Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang.
On her show yesterday, she admonished the democrats for wasting the country’s time on #RussiaGate, #UkraineGate, and now Trump’s #Impeachment: She said,
“Look, this president has committed real harm to this country [but] of course the Democrats seize[d] on the weakest and dumbest argument they could possibly make against him that bolsters their own establishment allies on war mongering around the world...
[I]magine how much could have been done if they spent even a quarter of [that] energy..to get the minimum wage up to $15 an hour..get health care improved and prescription drug prices down [issues] - they could have actually gotten something done that people actually care about…”
Right on Krystal, we agree! Krystal regularly calls out establishment politicians in both parties as “neoliberals”. What she means is that both parties are just the right and left wings of the US Corporatocracy. It’s all just political theater to keep us distracted and divided against each other while the corporate elites enrich themselves and push the working class deeper into debt and economic inequality.
If you want to follow Krystal’s work, you can subscribe to the YouTube channel for her show or follow them on Facebook. BigMedia Burns Corbyn & Saves UK for the Corporatocracy
Tuesday Dec 17, 2019
Tuesday Dec 17, 2019
Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 17th, 2019
As we mentioned yesterday in your #DailyWakeUpCall, the big news over the past weekend was the defeat of #Labour party candidate #JeremyCorbyn in the election for Prime Minister of the UK.
Most folks think of #Corbyn as the #BernieSanders -type candidate in the UK. So, #TrueLeft #Progressives all over the world have been following the UK election, seeing it as a bellwether of the coming Presidential election in the US.
Corbyn lost to Boris Johnson, who is the leader of the Tory party, which is the conservative party in the UK. So Johnson’s Tory party in the UK is much like the Republican Party in the US. And Corbyn’s Labour party in the UK is much like the Democratic Party in the US…
In our podcast today, we’ll look into the dynamics of the UK election to try and understand first, what the key factors are that most likely led to Corbyn’s defeat. And second, we’ll explore what those dynamics might mean for the True Left in the upcoming US election.
So the first thing that’ll be helpful in this analysis is to refine our language about #TrueLeft vs. Left vs Right, etc. Because what the UK election just confirmed– above and beyond all else– is that the primary struggle for political power in Western nations is not really a Left versus Right contest. It’s a Top vs Bottom contest, as in the Top 10%– the Billionaires and their millionaire shills– versus everyone else in the bottom 90%, the Working Class.
And it’s helpful to refine what mean about the Bottom 90%: the Working Class is not just a single homogeneous group of people. It’s really the Working Class(es) which are made up of various communities of people, including diverse ethinic groups and religious groups, etc.
It’s also helpful to further refine what we mean by the Top 10%, on one key point at least: pretty much all the mass news media in the UK is controlled by the Top 10%. Just three corporations own 83% of all UK newspapers including online news services: a whopping Two-thirds of UK communities do not have local papers and get all their news from billionaire-owned corporate news outlets.
Of course, the corporate news outlets overwhelmingly support Johnson and the Conservative Tory Party, which has given massive tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires in the UK. And along the way, the Tories have also instituted austerity measures which increase the cost of living for the Bottom 90%. In fact, a recently leaked memo has revealed that the Tories intend to dismantle the UK’s government-run National Health System (the #NHS) and sell it off to private corporations, including BigPharma companies in the US…
So there was a massive amount of profiteering at stake for the Top 10% in the UK election. And if you’ve already jumped to the conclusion, that the UK’s Billionaire-owned Corporate News Media used news propaganda to divide the Working Class against itself–and against Jeremy Corbyn– you’re on the right track. But which issues were used by the corporate media to divide the working class electorate? That’s the question we asked and here’s what we’ve found–
It seems the Corporate Media used a variety of smears against Corbyn but two major issues stick out. The first was the Brexit issue which involves whether Britain will “Leave” the European Union, and conduct its own trade negotiations with other countries. Or “Remain” in the EU and join the other EU countries as a coalition of trade partners. It’s beyond the scope of this report to get into the pros and cons of Brexit, but suffice to say the the Billionaire class in the UK all pretty much all want to “Leave” the EU, to protect their trade autonomy.
And what the Billionaires and the Tories knew, is that a major demographic group among the UK Working Class agree that the UK should “Leave” the EU as well. But it has nothing to do with Trade autonomy for this group. It’s the so-called “indigneous Brits”, who are mostly Working Class whites who have voted against immigrants and ethnic minorities. So the Tories targeted these “indigenous Brits” with micro-marketing campaigns about immigration problems. And they apparently turned them against Corbyn who has long-fought for immigrants’ rights...
The second key issue that the Corporate Media used to hurt Jermey Corbyn was to smear Corbyn and the Labour Party as anti-semites. This one is most bizarre, because Corbyn has fought against racism and antisemitism his whole political career. It was apprently the Israeli-Zionist lobby that helped the Corporate Media most to smear Corbyn as an anti-semite.
The Zionists are the far right conservatives of Israel- like the fascist wings of Tories in the UK and the Republicans and Corporate Democrats in the US... The Zionists hate Corbyn because of his long-standing support of the Palestinians in Israel. The Zionists are committing apartheid against the Palenstinians, and Corbyn has never shyed away from calling out the Zionists.
And as former Israeli Minister Shulamit Aloni has admitted, ““It's a trick. We always use it...when there is dissent against the Israeli government, we label them ‘anti-semitic’”.
So the Zionist lobby and the Corporate Media– including the US corporate media– have waged a multi-year campaign to smear Corbyn as an anti-semite, and it’s apprently had its effects….
Of course there were other campaigns of disinformation against Corbyn by the Billionaire’s Corporate smear machine, but we believe those two issues did the most damage to Corbyn.
And we’re already seeing signs in the US of similar tactics against Bernie Sanders, claiming -quote- “Bernie Samders has an anti-semitism problem,” etc. It’s preposterous, of course, because Bernie himself is Jewish. But many thought the smear wouldn’t stick on Corbyn either…
But most likely, the US Corporate Media will continue to label Bernie with its latest fave trope that Bernie is “#TooFarLeft”. Indeed, the day after Corbyn’s defeat, the New York Times ran a lead story that “Labour’s Crushing Loss in Britain Adds to ‘Too Far Left?’ Debate in U.S.” And the Times quoted the top three corporate democratic candidates, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, and billionaire Michael Bloomberg who all agreed with Bloombrg’s warning that “Jeremy Corbyn’s catastrophic showing in the U.K. is a clear warning [that demcratic voters mustn’t lean “TooFarLeft”].
As we stated at the beginning of this report, what’s most clear about Corbyn’s defeat is that the political struggle is not a Left versus Right struggle, but a Top versus Bottom struggle – of the Top 10% versus the Bottom 90%. And given that just 6 US corporations own most all the news media in the US, we’ll likely be just as bombarded with disinformation as were the Brits.
If that’s the case, and the corporate establishment continues to divide the US Working Class, then it could mean a silver lining... It could mean that finally - enough working class folk pass a tipping point - and realize that we can no longer depend on voting in a rigged political system that is so susceptible to such a deceptive and monolithic corporate smear machine.
And perhaps instead of wasting any more precious time and resources on a political system that’s rigged- Top to Bottom- against us, we begin organizing together and building our own community-based solutions and effectively boycotting this corporate plutocracy that has stolen our democracy.
Indeed, be sure and tune in this Thursday, where we’ll explore such inspiring community-based solutions that are already building in Great Britain- as well as similar projects in the US that are now underway….
Alright y’all, we’re gonna leave it there for today.... If you like what you heard, please share this article in your networks and help get the word out.

Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 16th, 2019
This is our “#MondayRoundup” edition in case you missed any of our podcasts last week. You can visit our website at WakingJustice.org for more details. Here are the headlines…
Every Friday on your #DailyWakeUpCall, we spotlight one of our fave #IndieJournos who is working to expose the hard truths of the US-led #Corporatocracy. These are the revolutionary journalists who make us ask, “Why aren’t we all freaking out about this shit?!”
We call it #FreakoutFriday, and last Friday, we shined the spotlight on indie journo Tim Black (@RealTimBlack). Tim is the founder and CEO of TBTV, which Tim says is “America’s most-watched Black Independent Media on the Left!” He’s also the writer and host of the popular daily YouTube series, the Tim Black Show. Tim covers the full spectrum of issues for the Progresive Left, and he’s doing a really great job covering the democratic primary right now… Plus Tim is one of the few indie journos on the Left who consistently covers issues of #RacialJustice.
As we discussed in our podcast on Friday, Tim understands that #Racism is a core mechanism of social control for the Corporatocracy. It’s how the Corporatocracy keeps us working class folk divided against each other and distracted from uniting together and organizing our collective power. And that’s why it’s a strategic imperative that all of us in the work of Global Justice – whether our focus is #SocialJustice, #DemocraticJustice, #EnvironmentalJustice or #AnimalJustice – we must all develop a deep literacy in Racial Justice issues…
The Corporatocracy is our common enemy. And it’ll take all of us working together- across all sectors of Global Justice to dismantle the corporate corruption of our democracy. But we will never be able to unite our causes until we all #WakeUp and can see how structural racism keeps us all oppressed and repressed, distracted and divided.
And that’s where we think Tim does his best, most vital work. Tim’s a uniter and we are blessed and lucky he’s on our side. Y’all be sure and check him out.
Last Thursday on your Daily WakeUp Call, we reviewed two big reports that came out last week- one about the Afghanistan War and the other about rising Income Inequality. We compared and contrasted those reports, and the way the corporate news outlets– the New York Times and the Washington Post– delivered those reports.
What we found most interesting about those reports- is what those news outlets left out of their coverage. Were you able to spot it, too...?
It’s a very shrewd “tactic of deceit” by the corporate news media called “Lies by Omission”: they’ll cover issues important to us– and they’ll point out the corruption we’re familiar with– but they never get the punchline about how we can actually end that corruption. And of course they never point out the fact that it’s the same corporate elites that own their news outlets that are ultimately responsible for all the corruption and fuckery that they’re reporting about…
In our podcast last Wednesday, we dug deeper into this tactic of “Lies by Omission” by the corporate news media. It was our #WhistleblowerWednesday podcast where each week, we profile a different whistleblower. These are the brave activists who expose the secretive workings of the US-led Corporatocracy in its.takeover of our democracy.
The whistleblower event we covered last Wednesday was about the faked poison gas attack in Douma Syria in 2018. Two scientists who were involved in the official investigation into that poison gas attack had effectively reported that the alleged attack was most likely a fake, staged event. So, there was no poison gas attack. And the evidence was most likely planted by a group called the White Helmets, a front-group for the CIA.
The corporate media had blamed the supposed attack on the Syrian government. And they called on President Trump to immediately retaliate. And within a few days, the US, France and the UK – in a joint campaign– bombed over 150 government sites in Syria. And based on what the Whistleblowers just revealed, it was all based on a big lie, concocted by the CIA.
And the big “Lies by Omission”? NO ONE in the corporated media covered the fact that those two whistleblowers have exposed the hoax! You can check out the details in our #WhistleblowerWednesday podcast last week. It’s fascinating, maddening stuff…
Of course, the big news over this past weekend was the big election in the UK. It was a stunning defeat for Jermemy Corbyn, who was basically the “Bernie Sanders” type-candidate running for Prime Minister of the UK. In the podcast tomorrow for your Daily WakeUp Call, we’re gonna look into the massive smear campaign against Corbyn. It was conducted by the corporate media in the UK, and it definitely helped cause his defeat. And it’s most likely a preview of what’s ahead for #BernieSanders as he takes on the corporate democrats in the #DemocraticPrimary next spring.

#FreakoutFriday: Tim Black and the Wolf Pack
Friday Dec 13, 2019
Friday Dec 13, 2019
Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 13th, 2019
It’s “Freakout-Friday” on your Daily Wakeup Call where every Friday we spotlight indie journos who are pushing the leading-edge of independent journalism. These are the folks who expose the hard truths that make us ask, “Why aren’t we all freaking out about this?!”
Today we spotlight the work of indie journo, Tim Black (@RealTimBlack). Tim is the founder and CEO of TBTV, which Tim says is “America’s most-watched Black Independent Media on the Left!” He’s also the writer and host of the popular daily TV series, the Tim Black Show on YouTube.
Tim’s got a huge, loyal following, both in the US and abroad. They call themselves, the Tim Black Wolf Pack. It’s mostly supporters of Tim’s show who agree that the Progressive, anti-corporatist Left needs to build a cohesive, grassroots movement that goes beyond the four-year Presidential election cycle and stays involved with local and regional politics ongoing.
His viewers say, “The appeal of Tim Black is that he gives you the hard facts you need to understand the issues, but he delivers the facts with emotion and humor. And intensity too, but it never seems contrived– he’s authentic.”
For example, here’s a recent audio clip of Tim talking about democratic candidates Cory Booker and Michael Bloomberg. If you don’t know these men, Bloomberg’s an 80 year-old white billionaire and recent mayor of New York City. And Booker is an African American US Senator from New Jersey. When Bloomberg was recently asked what he thought about Booker, Bloomberg said that Booker is “well spoken”.
Most folks who follow national politics know that Cory Booker is a highly educated Rhodes Scholar, so when Bloomberg labeled Booker as “well-spoken” many folks saw it as a demeaning, racist slip, similar to Joe Biden’s gaffe in 2008, when Biden referred to Barack Obama as “clean and articulate”.
Bloomberg’s comment went immediately viral on social media. And when the senator was asked in a followup interview what he thought about Bloomberg’s obvious racial slip, Booker said he was -quote- “taken aback...”
So then Booker’s tepid response went viral: A LOT of folks on social media slammed Booker for dodging a huge opportunity to bring the much-neglected issue of racism into the political dialogue. That’s the setup and here’s the audio clip of Tim’s assessment of Booker and Bloomberg…
See what we mean? Tim doesn’t pull any punches… Like any true Progressive, Tim despises white liberal racism like that of Bloomberg and Biden. But Tim gets especially annoyed by Black leaders like Booker who betray their opportunity to step up and lead in the fight against racism….
Here’s one more example where Tim goes off on Barack Obama. You may know that over the past few months Barack Obama has been labeling true Progressives as #TooFarLeft for the Demoratic party. Here are some excerpts from Tim’s take(down) on Obama:
“[Back in 2008]– for white folks– [Obama] was the cool black guy that they wanted to hang out with; and for black people he was the cool black guy that... white people wanted to hang out with… But the fact [is] Obama was a Trojan horse. He was not who we thought he was…
“[As it turned out], Tim says, “he’s a greedy bastard who took more money from Wall Street than any other candidate in the history of presidential candidates. [And] he’s like Hillary– he won’t go away. He's still out there right now selling it: that those with the money make the rules. That real America doesn’t want “revolution” – they want slow, steady progress. That's the reality he wants you to believe in.
“[Well] the REALITY is we can't get SHIT done. Everyday people are [still] dying who shouldn't have to; people are [still] living in poverty who shouldn't have to. We [still] don't got clean water, clean air, or accessible health care...
“Obama was never on our side— we were wrong about him- he wanted power and fame- all he could take. We know that now. So let's learn from the past. And let's take it back…”
Tim has a broad, diverse audience base, and he’s obviously unafraid to use his opportunity to take on the tough issues. Tim says, “I don’t want to turn people off [but] I do wanna educate them; and I think it’s worth the risk of turning some people off, if I can help people see what’s going on beyond themselves.” A good example of this has been Tim’s ongoing coverage of the Reparations movement for American Descendents of Slaves. Tim has done a three-part series on the issue of Reparations with respected scholar Dr. William “Sandy” Darity Jr, a Black American economist who is one of the nation’s foremost experts on Reparations.
And Tim recorded an excellent interview with democratic candidate Marianne Williamson (@marwilliamson), who has made reparations a cornerstone of her campaign. As Marianne and Tim discussed, “most Americans are very under-educated about the history of race:
“The first slave ships arrived in this country in 1619,” she reminds us. “And slavery endured for the next 250 years until the end of the civil war…
After the Civil War, American Descendents of Slaves (or ADOS) were subjected to another 100 years of mass domestic terrorism including lynchings, arson, bombings and other campaigns of violence until Civil Rights reforms in the mid 1960s.
And since the 1960s, ADOS are still systematically oppressed by structural institutions of racism such as a rigged Criminal Justice System and disproportionate Police Shootings and Mass Prison Incarceration. So that’s 400 years of reparations owed to ADOS…
“For historical context,” Marianne adds, “Germany paid $89 BILLION in reparations to Jewish organizations after WWII. And Ronald Reagan signed the Civil Liberties Act in 1988 that paid reparations to Japanese Americans who were forced into US Internment Camps during WWII.”
You should check out Tim’s interview with Marianne when you can– but the gist of Marianne’s plan is a $500 BILLION reparations fund that would roll out over a 20 year period and be managed at the discretion of a broad council of ADOS representatives. The financial goal of course is to correct the racial wealth gap. But the overarching goal is to begin an earnest process of reconciliation with ADOS. And to begin healing the soul of America...
If you’re in the work of Global Justice- whether it’s Social Justice, Democratic Justice, Environmental Justice or Animal Justice- we need to understand that we’re all fighting the same fight. All our struggles are against the same enemy: as Marianne and Tim explained: it’s “a new aristocracy of corporate interests that now dominates our government.” It’s what Marianne calls the “Corporatocracy.” And racism is the core mechanism of social control for the Corporatocracy. It’s how the Corporatocracy keeps working class Americans divided against each other and distracted from uniting and organizing its collective power.
So it’s a strategic imperative that all of us in the work of Global Justice develop a deep literacy in Racial Justice issues. And among the indie journos of the True Left, Tim Black is easily the most consistent in cultivating that literacy ongoing. You can find the links to Tim’s YouTube channels and other social media in the article for this podcast at WakingJustce.org. And remember, Tim’s a true indie journo. His work is sustained by the financial support of his audience. So if you can afford to throw him a few bucks, you can donate on his Patreon page at “Patreon dot com slash Tims Take Live”.
Alright, we’ll wrap up on that note. We hope you enjoyed the podcast today.

Afghanistan is a Boondoggle for Corporate Elites
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 12, 2019.
In our podcast yesterday for #WhistleBlowerWednesday, we discussed the -quote- “Lies by Omission” by Corporate News outlets. Two whistleblowers have exposed a huge coverup about a faked poison-gas attack in Syria in 2017 that was staged by a CIA front group called the White Helmets.
The staged attack was blamed on the Syrian government and calls for US retaliation against the Syrian government were given the full-throated support of the western corporate media. Within days, the US, France and Britain ended up bombing over 150 government targets in Syria…
And now two whistleblowers - both reputable scientists- have come forward and effectively confirmed that the poison-gas attack was completely faked. It’s a HUGE bombshell but no corporate outlets are investigating it! That’s what we meant by “Lies by Omission” by the corporate media....
So it was with great surprise that we discovered reports on two other equally stunning revelations that the corporate media DID report on yesterday... well sort of– you be the judge:
The first revelation was about the ongoing War in Afghanistan- and as you’ll see- it ultimately amounts to just another campaign of “Lies by Omission” by the corporate media. (See if you can figure it out before we give the reveal…).
There were actually two angles pushed yesterday about Afghanistan- one was in the Washington Post, which did a big flashy production claiming they’d uncovered a “trove” of confidential documents about the failings of the Afghanistan War effort. [For those who may not remember, the US military invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the auspices of the Global War on Terror; to bring “peace and democracy” to that country- and to root out the terrorists.] As indie journo Caitlin Johnstone (@caitoz) pointed out, the WaPo article basically just propped up old info that was previously revelaed about various military commanders saying the war has been failing to win the peace, etc. No real “new” news there…
The other article about Afghanistan was published by the New York Times with a similar “revelatory” tone, but this time about money– that the Afghan war has now cost over $2 TRILLION dollars- and “for what?” the author asked. The Times piece claimed that much ($Billions!) of that money has been lost to corruption among Afghan officials and done little to help the mass of Afghanis still stuck in Poverty. And like WaPo, the Times also echoed similar complaints about the failings of US military operations to win an enduring peace there, etc. Again, no real “new” news there...
So what do you think the Washington Post and the New York Times might have left out of their little circle jerk…? Well, it turns out that the US Military occupation is mostly all about a boondoggle of natural resources… As the Corporatocracy has long known, Afghanistan has massive natural gas reserves and one of the richest mineral and precious metal fields in the world, including precious stones and rare metals “worth Trillions with an ‘s’!” as US General Patraeus let slip back in 2010. So the war in Afghanistan was always just a coup to enrich the US Corporatocracy, just like it’s trying to do in Syria and Venezuela- and like it just did in Bolivia…
The other apparent big revelation yesterday, was the “stunning” findings about massive income inequality in the US. It was based on some recycled data that was originally published back in 2016, and made popular by democratic candidate Bernie Sanders. Remember how Sanders talked about the “grotesque inequality” in the US where “the Top three richest Americans own more wealth that the bottom 50% of American workers? That data...
But yesterday’s article did offer some new insights most notably that the vast income gap between the Top 1% – whose income has increased “100 times faster” than average working Americans – has done so for two main reasons: ONE is the skyrocketing wage rates for wealthy corporate elites over the past several years; and TWO is the massive tax reductions over the past several years for the wealthiest wage earners.
In fact, the author noted that in 2018– for the first time in US history– the top 400 earners in America paid a lower effective tax rate than average working-class Americans. (What the fuck…?) The author said, “there are many reasons for this..including [reduced] estate and corporate taxes,” etc. And he ended the article stating, “How to change [these trends] is a debate progressives will relish. These new findings should help their case.”
But he left out a few important points about how wealthy elites got those big new incomes and sweet new tax breaks…What the author left out was that Trump’s new tax plan that was passed in 2017 is considered “the Biggest Wealth Grab in Modern History.” And do you know who held that record before Trump? BARACK OBAMA...
As the NY POST reported in 2016, the Obama years should be known as “the Great Fleecing,” of America, because “Obama oversaw the greatest transfer of wealth [to the wealthiest elites] in the history of the world.” And as renowned French economist Thoms Piketty said at the end of Obama’s Presidency, wealth inequality in the US is “now higher than in any other society at any time in the past, anywhere in the world.”
In 2014, Princeton University conducted a study that revealed the true reality of wealth and power in America. The researchers proved that working class Americans now have -quote- “a near-zero, statistically non-significant impact on US public policy.” And that “when corporate elites want to stop a new policy, there is a 100% chance they’ll get their way.”
As Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges (@ChrisLynnHedges) has said, “The Corporate coup d'etat of America is now complete. Corporate elites now control all levers of democratic power in the US. And the elites will not give up their power. We will have to take it from them..and that means Revolution,” Hedges said: “Mass, nonviolent civil disobedience.”
We agree! And if you’d like to learn more about how all of us in the work of Global Justice can join together in mass organized boycott and force this corporatocracy to the people’s bargaining table, to end all this injustice, cruelty and corruption, and to help save our planet– please check out our ABOUT Page and listen to our first podcast. #WhistleblowerWednesday: BigMedia’s ‘Lies by Omission’
Wednesday Dec 11, 2019
Wednesday Dec 11, 2019
Daily Wake Up Call: DEC 11, 2019
Here’s what the Corporatocracy is up to today, DECEMBER 11, 2019
It’s #WhistleblowerWednesday today, where each Wednesday, we focus on the whistleblowers – the brave activists who work to expose the corporate takeover of our democracy, what we call the US Corporatocracy...
The US was practically founded by Whistleblowers. In fact, some of the most important patriots in US history were Whistleblowers. For a brief history, you can check out the first edition of #WhistleblowerWednesday in our October 2nd podcast.
Today we profile The Douma Hoax, which is an epic #WhistleBlower event that’s now unfolding, even as we present this report. What’s unique about this event is that it blows wide open the ongoing tactic of “Lies by Omission” by the corporate mass media.
When corporate news outlets like FoxNews and CNN act in unison - and suppress information that would reveal the ongoing fuckery of the US Corporatocracy- that’s what we mean by “Lies by Omission”. It’s how BigMedia helps the Corporatocracy maintain a facade of normalcy, even as it steals our democracy with rigged elections, structural racism, for-profit prisons, and a disease-for-profit food system that keeps us sick, distracted and profitable.
Those are all systems of social control that keep us divided against each other and against our shared self-interest. And we’ll get back to those in a moment, but first we’ll lay the groundwork on this Douma Hoax, the whistleblower event that’s now underway. Here’s what you need to know:
Douma is a city in the oil rich country of Syria in the Middle East. And as we explained in your Daily WakeUp Call on OCT 17th, the CIA has been trying to destabilize Syria to steal its oil for the US Corpotorcay. As we explained, the CIA recruited terrorists from ISIS to wage violent attacks on Syrian cities to make it look like civil war was breaking out there.
It’s the same basic regime-change strategy that the CIA just used in Bolivia to overthrow their democratically elected President Evo Morales. And like the CIA’s failed attempt to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, earlier this year…
The CIA coup in Syria has been flailing too. And to try and resuscitate the coup, a CIA front-group called the “White Helmets” staged a fake poison gas attack in the city of Douma – and blamed it on the Syrian government. That was back in April, 2018– and Corporate news outlets like CNN and FoxNews pushed President Trump to retaliate. And a week later, the US, France and UK launched a series of air bombings against multiple government sites in Syria.
But indie journos across the spectrum slammed those air bombings. They cited mounting evidence that the poison gas attacks had been faked. So a supposed international watchdog group called the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) was tasked to study the evidence of the alleged gas attack in Douma. And when the OPCW report finally came out– and tried to prop up fake evidence of a poison gas attack– indie observers immediately knew that the report was a fake, too.
In fact multiple whistleblowers have now come forward stating that the final OPCW report was “written by senior managers with assertions that contradicted [their] findings.” These whistleblowers are respected scientists, and these are huge revelations, but the mainstream corporate media is actively suppressing this information- there’s been effectively zero coverage by BigMedia of the whistleblowers’ allegations...
In fact, a Newsweek reporter named Tareq Haddad just resigned under protest last week, because Newsweek pulled his story on the OPCW scandal. Haddad says, “...my attempts to publish newsworthy revelations about the OPCW [leaks] were refused for no valid reason [and] ..I have collected evidence of how [Newsweek] suppressed the story in addition to evidence from another case where info inconvenient to US government was removed, though it was factually correct,”
So, the suppression of truth about key issues, combined with a campaign of disinformation about those issues, is the dual “tactic of deceit” by BigMedia. And further- the disinformation campaigns are often compounding: one Big Lie builds into another. It’s like the fake #RussiaGate conspiracy that was spun by BigMedia to cast blame on Russia for “meddling in the 2016 election”.
But as most folks now know, #RussiaGate was just intended to distract the public from what really happened in 2016: It’s now well documented that the corporate-controlled DNC rigged the 2016 Primary against Bernie Sanders to help Hillary win it. And at the same time, the corporate media propped up Donald Trump as the frontrunner of the Republicn Primary. Remember the leaked DNC emails by @Wikileaks revealed that the Hillary campaign desperately wanted to run against Trump. It was because they thought Trump would be easiest for Hillary to defeat. And we all know how that turned out….
So it was actually the Democrats and the Corporate Media that “meddled in the election”. But the mainstream media didn’t cover that fact; they covered it up with “Lies by Omission”. And then they redirected our attention with a campaign of disinformation that we now know as #RussiaGate. Both #RussiaGate and now the OPCW scandal reveal the vast global reach of the US-led Corporatocacy’s propaganda machine.
What other key issues can you think of that the Corporatocracy covers up ongoing by its “Lies of Omission”? How about the fact that the US now imprisons more of its own people than any other nation– and that the vast majority– by far– are Black and Brown Amercians who have not even been convicted of a crime?
Or how about the fact that Wealth Inequality in the US is now higher than any other nation at any time in history? Or that average working Americans now has a near-zero, statistically non-significant impact on US policy, but when US corporate elites want to stop a new policy, there is a 100% chance they’ll get their way?
Or how about the fact that 18 of the Top 20 BigPharma products are medicines that treat diseases associated with animal-based foods? And that our meat and dairy habits are a leading cause of Climate Change AND the Mass Extinction of Species now underway?
That last one about animal-based foods calls into question our own confirmation bias doesn’t it? Confirmation bias is the mental defect where people tend to dismiss evidence that conflicts with their own comfort. It’s a good example of how we all practice our own self-deceit with our own “Lies by Omission”.
And it points to a deeper R/evolution that’s most urgently needed among our species– not simply how we humans are so easily deceived by the corporate propaganda machine. Indeed that– but also how we humans can so easily deceive ourselves. It seems this inherent faculty of stubborn self-deceit is the root cause of our vulnerability to mass propaganda techniques.
We’re not meaning to be preachy here y’all! We certainly don’t have the answers to that great dilemma. We’re just pointing out the facts as we see them. And that’s a good place to leave it for today… If you have any other thoughts on it, please let us know what you think!
